It'll be a boy!

Bokin Bump is now officially to be a Bokin baby boy! We found out today, at the start of the New Year 5770! Another milestone coinciding with a major date.

It's only the end of week 19 but we're so excited to soon welcome you into our family. The grandparents(-to-be) and aunts(-to-be) are very excited as well. Reese will still stay the family's only "little girl" (for now?!).

Boy? Girl?

For those who are wondering - no, we don't know the child's sex yet, and yes, we will find out as soon as we can.

In the mean time, we took an online quiz that combines all the old wife's tales (e.g. sleeping north or south, morning sickness or not, cravings, etc...) - http://www.childbirth.org/articles/boyorgirl.html

You have a 43% chance of having a boy
And you have a 56% chance of having a girl.

And Here's Why...
You are carrying the extra weight out front, so it's a boy.
The hair on your legs is not growing any faster during your preganacy, so it's a girl.
Boys are carried low. You are going to have a boy.
Sleeping in a bed with your pillow to the south indicates that you will be having a girl.
Your feet are colder than they were before pregnancy. You are having a boy.
You refuse to eat the heel of a loaf of bread. You are having a girl.
Dad-to-be is gaining weight right along with Mom-to-be, which means that you'll have a boy.
The maternal grandmother doesn't have gray hair (dyed or natural), so a girl will be born.
You didn't have morning sickness early in pregnancy, so it will be a boy.
You are looking particularly good during pregnancy. Therefore, it must be a boy, because girls steal their mother's looks.
Your chest development has been quite dramatic during pregnancy. You should expect a girl.
Since the sum of the mother's age at conception and the number of the month of conception is even, it will be a boy.
A needle on a thread held over you belly moves from side-to-side, so it will be a girl.
Your urine is a dull yellow color, so you will have a girl.
You have a craving for salty or sour foods, which means that it is a boy.
Your nose hasn't changed during pregnancy, which indicates a girl.
You have been craving fruits, so it is a girl.
Your baby's heart rate is 140 or more beats per minute, so it's a girl.
You have no desire for orange juice, so it's a boy.
You are not having headaches, so it's a girl.
Your belly looks like a basketball, so it's a boy.
You show them the palm of your hand, so it's a girl.
You use the body of the mug, so it's a girl.

So there you go, now you know as much as we do :-)

6.1cm

So tiny. So small. Only 6.1cm...but all the parts are there.

Today we saw the baby move around in the belly. It looked like a little tadpole swimming in a pond. The ultrasound technician was trying to measure all kinds of things from all kinds of angles and just shook the mommy's belly to get the baby to turn around and it was amazing to watch how in slow motion the baby's face would float into the "camera".

The Bokin Bump

It's a...Boy? Girl?

Who knows. Too early. But T went to the OB on Wednesday and got her first ultrasound. Doc says everything looks good and we'll see her again in 3 weeks.

Lines

Sunday, 6/21/09, Father's Day

Yawn. I'm still half asleep. I hear some rustling in the bathroom. Then T leaps into bed and busts out "Happy Father's Day!". I think "to me?!!...sweeeet". I grin. *We high-five*. We hug. Then she shows me those 2 blue lines. Ah, those sweet baby blue parallel lines we've been longing to see. Short parallel lines - just the start of a long road to fatherhood.

Happy Father's day to all!
